Meet the Pennsylvania Team Behind Strongbox Lock & Safe Co. of Pennsylvania

Our Pennsylvania crew has opened stuck doors at 2 a.m. in a February ice storm, rekeyed entire apartment blocks between tenant turnovers, and talked nervous homeowners through lockouts over the phone while a truck was still ten minutes out. What ties us together isn’t a handbook. It’s the understanding that we’re walking into someone’s home or business at a vulnerable moment, and the only thing that matters is leaving them safer than we found them. Every person on this page answers to Dale Corrigan, and every one of them carries ID, a uniform, and the patience to explain what they’re doing before they do it.

Our People

Dale Corrigan, Owner

I started Strongbox Lock & Safe Co. of Pennsylvania more than 42 years ago, working out of a van with a pinning kit and a coffee thermos that never seemed to empty. These days I spend more time on the phone and in the field than at a desk, which is how I prefer it. I’m still the one who quotes most jobs, still the one who checks in after a tricky installation, and still the one who personally handles calls when a customer isn’t sure whether they need a repair or a full replacement. My grandfather kept the deed to his hardware store in an iron strongbox under the counter. That’s where the name came from, and that’s the standard I still measure against: something solid, something that lasts, something you don’t have to second-guess. I hold a Certified Master Locksmith designation through ALOA, but the credential that matters most to me is the number of Pennsylvania families who’ve had us back a second, third, or fourth time.

Marcus T., Lead Technician

Marcus has been with us for eleven years, and he’s the technician other technicians call when a Medeco deadbolt is fighting back or a commercial access control panel is speaking in error codes. He holds certifications in both residential and commercial master key systems, and he’s one of the few people in our region factory-trained on Mul-T-Lock’s Interactive+ platform. Marcus grew up in York County, and he still lives there with his wife and two kids, which means he’s usually the one handling early-morning calls in the south-central part of the state. His truck is organized with almost unsettling precision: every pinning kit labeled, every key blank sorted by manufacturer. He claims he can find a Schlage SC1 in complete darkness, and after watching him work a blackout call in Harrisburg, I’m not prepared to argue.

Elena R., Senior Installer

Elena came to us from a commercial door hardware background, and she approaches every installation as if she’s fitting a bank vault, whether it’s a Baldwin mortise lock on a Main Street storefront or a basic Kwikset deadbolt for a first-time homeowner in Allentown. She’s factory-certified by both Schlage and Baldwin, and she’s completed Abloy’s advanced disc-detainer training, a certification fewer than two dozen locksmiths hold in the entire state. Elena is the person who catches things others miss: a door frame that’s starting to split, a strike plate sitting a sixteenth of an inch too low, a security door that looks impressive but won’t actually stop a pry bar. Off the clock, she restores vintage motorcycles, which she says taught her more about patience and tolerances than any classroom ever could.

James K., Service Coordinator

James is the live voice you get when you call (844) 643-4161 at midnight on a Sunday or at 7 a.m. on Thanksgiving. He’s been with us for six years, and he’s heard every variation of “I’m locked out” that Pennsylvania weather and human forgetfulness can produce. Before joining Strongbox, James spent a decade in emergency dispatch for a regional fire department, which explains why he stays calm when callers are anything but. He doesn’t just take information; he troubleshoots over the phone when it’s safe to do so, quotes flat prices with the exact wording Dale uses, and tracks every technician’s location so he can tell you honestly whether help is twenty minutes or forty. He keeps a handwritten log of every after-hours call, not because we require it, but because he says patterns emerge: the same apartment complex in Pittsburgh with chronically failing locks, the same office building in Philadelphia where the access cards demagnetize every March. That log has saved more than one customer from a repeat emergency.

Devon P., Apprentice Technician

Devon joined us two years ago, straight out of a vocational program in Lancaster County, and he’s working toward his Registered Locksmith certification through ALOA. Right now he handles rekeys, lockouts, and standard installations under supervision, and he’s started taking lead on automotive calls, particularly the newer transponder and smart-key systems that change faster than any of us can fully keep up. Devon asks more questions than anyone else on the team, which is exactly what you want in someone who’s still learning. He grew up on a dairy farm in Lebanon County, and he brings that same methodical, early-rising energy to the job: every tool cleaned and returned, every key cut checked twice, every customer walked through what was done and why. Last winter he spent forty minutes on a freezing porch in Reading, talking a retired teacher through a temporary fix until morning, because she was worried about the cost of an after-hours call. Dale waived the emergency fee. Devon didn’t ask him to.

One Standard, Every Job

From Dale’s first van to the fleet we run today, the rule hasn’t changed: the price we quote is the price you pay, the work is backed by our 90-Day Done Right Promise in writing with no arguing and no extra paperwork, and the person at your door is background-checked, uniformed, and carrying ID. Whether it’s Marcus sorting out a master key nightmare in a Scranton office building, Elena fitting a Yale smart lock for a family in Bethlehem, James talking a stranded driver through a safe spot to wait in downtown Pittsburgh, or Devon rekeying a rental unit in Lancaster between tenants, the standard is the same. We show up when we say we’ll show up. We explain what we’re doing before we do it. And we stand behind it, no paperwork, no arguing. That’s not a slogan on a truck. That’s how every person on this page was hired, trained, and held accountable. Named for the iron box where your grandfather kept the deed. Still built that way.
